The will be a Blood Donation Clinic  in Duleek Boys National School, Duleek on Wednesday 22nd January, 2020 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm.

The first time you donate takes a good hour – hour and a half so give yourself the time to read through the information that will be given to you. If you have any questions at any time you can ask our Staff. Make sure you have something decent to eat in the 3 hrs prior to visiting the clinic. Have the name any medication with you, generally the longer your on something the more likely you are to donate ie blood pressure tabs etc.

You queue at Registration give your details to the Driver Clerks, they print a form with questions on the back. It will feel like it takes a long time to complete because you are a new Donor and there are a lot of questions. Then a Nurse will go over the form with you, any new Donor or a Donor who hasn’t donated in a few year must see the Nurse. Once they test your iron levels with a small test and your iron is within our guidelines you will be brought onto the beds to donate. It is recommended to have some water from the water area prior to donating and then tea and biscuits after. Don’t be in a rush, Staff will keep an extra eye on you because its your first time.
